The processes were different and so were the technical requirements. In the Medical Device Industry:

The production of medical devices is involved in a strictly regulated business. In almost all countries, and for most medical and diagnostic products, there are standards to which manufacturers need to demonstrate compliance. Regulators and government bodies mandates 3rd party inspection compliance as per applicable standards for products/services which they approve. Accreditation assures technical competence of the notified bodies. Regulators rely on accreditation and prescribe manufacturers to Third-Party Accredited Conformity Assessments.

In Transportation Industry:

Organizations in the aerospace/defense, automotive and railway industries must provide, and continually improve, safe and reliable products and services that meet or exceed customer and applicable legal requirements. Inspection of components involves the examination of a product design, product, process, or installation and determination of its conformity with specific requirements or based on professional judgment, with general requirements. Regulators and government bodies (DGAQA, DGCA, RDSO) ensure compliance as per applicable standards/regulations for products/services which they approve.

Construction and Hazardous Area Equipment:

UK Conformity Assessed (UKCA) marking allows the UK to have control over its goods regulations, maintaining the high product safety standards expected in the UK. The UKCA marking replaces the product safety labelling the UK previously used while a member of the EU, such as the CE mark. The UKCA marking covers most categories of goods which previously required CE marking of products. In European Union, CE marking of Industrial products is mandatory to export

Impact Assessment and Circularity:

Many companies and organizations set out important innovations that remove greenhouse gas (GHG) from the atmosphere or decarbonize the traditional business with improvements helping to reach the EU targets in GHG avoidance. The European Union has a program that funds these innovation projects through the EU Innovation Fund. Assurance providers accredited by the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/2067, or standards ISO 14065, ISO 14064-2 or ISO 14064-3 are considered qualified to perform the verification/validation.
