DNV leaves its footprints in the once violence-stricken Northern Sri Lankan city of Jaffna, by certifying a leading construction company to ISO 9001:2008 standard.

A leading construction company in Jaffna (Sri Lanka), Euroville Engineers & Constructors (Pvt.) Ltd., is the first company situated in the troubled northern province of Sri Lanka, to be certified to the Quality Management System standard. This is a milestone contract for us, says Mr. Nandakumar Shamanna, Zonal Chair (South Zone). He elaborates pointing out that, "Jaffna is situated in the northern belt of Sri Lanka and this area has been affected by civil war for two long decades. It was only six months back when the civil war ceased and since then the Sri Lankan government is working towards rebuilding the infrastructure for driving economic development in Jaffna."
“As a result, Jaffna is a virgin territory with regards to certification and we plan to exploit our full potential in this province,” says Nandakumar, adding, “Even more, many companies in this area have begun to realise the importance & benefits of maintaining good systems and also regarding quality management system requirements, which is positive for us.”
