At a recent NASSCOM Quality Forum titled, ‘Standards & Certifications: A Boon or a Bane for Organizations’ held at the Infosys campus in Hyderabad, DNV shared its know-how by presenting a paper.


There was a large turnout of participants at this forum, coming from over forty high profile companies from different industries, including Consultants. "The main aim of the forum is to bring an awareness of different standards and certifications in the marketplace and to promote the adoption of standards as a profitable and rewarding option for organisations," says D. S. Prakash, Business Development Manager (South Zone).
Exciting Panel discussions
The panelists, including DNV's D. S. Prakash, Mahesh Balani and Raghram Kalluri from GENPECT, Namit Aggarwal from Apollo Health Street, and Sudhanshu Garg from Infosys, shared their experiences and knowledge on the subject, in an exciting interactive discussions with participants. Discussions on the integration of standards and the need for going beyond a specific standard to achieve business excellence were the main highlight of the forum.
Each panel member brought to light different perspectives from their own industry such as IT, ITeS, Healthcare, Telecom, Infrastructure, providing insights on how to leverage standards and certifications to get optimal results of implementation.
In his presentation, Prakash deliberated on the significance of standards for better productivity & sustainability. In addition, he also discussed on how certification is all about giving assurance to customers and prospective customers about the organizations existing system and processes.
Prakash concluded saying that, "Whether standards and certifications is a boon or a bane is not for us as panelists to decide….it is the onus of an organisation to address the needs and eventually choose it as an advantageous tool for growth.”
