A recent two-day training and capacity building workshop focusing on corporate sustainability reporting, was organized by 'The Energy and Research Institute' (TERI) in partnership with DNV.
The two-day training and capacity building workshop on 'Corporate Sustainability Reporting', organized by TERI-BCSD India in partnership with DNV, aimed to promote sustainability reporting among Corporates in India. The basic theme of this workshop is to help participants understand the concept of sustainability reporting and to assist them with the process of developing a sustainability report,” says Mr. Santhosh Jayaram, Head – Sustainability and Business Excellence Services (South Asia).
High profile participation
The workshop showed a good turnout of participants representing senior managerial positions from top-notch companies such as BPCL, Cairn India, IOCL, NSE, Tata Chemicals, Wipro Ltd. Yes Bank, Johnson Controls, AB Initio, BASF India, Abellon Clean Energy, to name a few.
At this workshop, TERI-BCSD India member company CEOs participated in a one-hour panel discussion with trainees on their views and perspectives on corporate responsibility and the role of sustainability reporting. The panel comprised of high profile CEO’s, namely Ms. Meera H. Sanyal (Country Head, ABN AMRO Bank NV), Mr. Prasad Chandran (Chairman & Managing Director, BASF India Limited), and Mr. Kishor Chaukar (Managing Director, Tata Industries). The panel discussion was moderated by DNV’s Santhosh Jayaram, who was also the trainer of the workshop.

Talking about the feedback from participants, Mr. Sumanesh Banerjee (Course Trainer) said that, “The participants were very enthusiastic and asked interesting questions.” He adds saying that, “All-in-all the workshop was a big success and this indeed helped us to reach out to the powerhouses of India Inc. with our message on Corporate Sustainability Reporting”
