DNV in India supports Moser Baer, the world's second largest manufacturer of Optical Storage media like CDs and DVDs, to release its first Corporate Responsibility (CR) report.


Moser Baer is an organization propelled by its unifying vision of touching every life across the globe through high technology products and services. The company believes that in order to achieve this vision, it has to continue to earn the trust of all its stakeholders, and the key to realize this is sustainable development.
Describing sustainable development as one which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generation to meet their own needs, Moser Baer decided to release its Corporate Responsibility report.
Dr. Yogendra Chaudhry, DNV’s Project Manager, points out that, “The customer was not just looking at publishing a Corporate Responsibility report but they wanted to develop a system which enables the company to identify, monitor, and report its sustainability performance on a regular basis.”
He adds, “Thus besides supporting the company to bring out the CR report, Moser Baer also selected us to conduct training and facilitation services which would enable the company to maintain a self sustaining system for monitoring and reporting the key performance indicators for the organizations sustainability performance.”
Capacity Building, Training, and Facilitation
The entire capacity building project carried out by DNV for the customer was executed in 5 essential steps comprising of Awareness building, Core team capacity building, Indicator Champions training, Training performance dashboard, and Monitoring review training.
It was a synergized approach between the project team in DNV and the customer. “With DNV's immense experience in providing Corporate Responsibility solutions and the customers unique set of skills on the sustainability issues and project management, we successfully and aptly executed the project as planned,” says Yogendra.
The customer was quick to design, develop and implement a system for monitoring, measuring and reporting its sustainability challenges and performance by integrating and aligning the whole process with its various management systems, says Yogendra, adding, “We helped them make the transition from standards certification to Corporate Sustainability Management system, and it took only a few months. During the project execution, we did not run into a single issue, and our approach was appreciated by the customer.”
Customer Management
